WHY OPEN FRAME MEDIA?

Damn. It’s been a minute, huh?

Wait.

It’s only been a month. 1.5 months? Close to two months?

I might be a little rusty with this blog shit, so here we go LOL.

The last article I wrote was the John Cena perspective career article. That was back in December of 2025. It was a good, decent break from writing blog articles since then. It was a quiet, strong, finish to a year that involved a TON of writing in different lanes (more on that below). Also, it led to another creative idea/venture, one that is more of a long term look than anything else I’ve created before.

And that’s a great way to transition to the subject matter, and title, of the first blog article of the year: Why Open Frame Media?

To take you back, the thought of this new concept came into my head last summer. I’m in the middle of writing my first screenplay (yes, I’m a screenwriter now!), and as usual, the mind starts to race and wander off. I had the first blog site (The Blog of Dru) going. I was curating my first (of many, currently) screenplays. And, I was juggling deciding on whether or not I wanted to bring back my previous We Are Indie Wednesdays concept, but in a reboot-like look (Now it’s named WE ARE INDIE. And it’s a digital magazine that will still highlight the voices of independent art). It was the thinking process that led to me mapping out a vision for a home for all of my creative ideas, new or old. Over the years, I evolved as a writer and an overall creator, so something like this was still a surprise because truthfully speaking, I’m still in awe of my path. To start as a poet (and still write poetry to this day) and to now be a visionary? And I’m grateful that I’m in a position to help out others (more on that down the road) and grow my audience as well.

What’s wild is that at the start of 2025, NONE of this was on my brain. The screenwriting. Bringing back the We Are Indie series. Creating a multimedia platform. Hell, even the blog was barely an idea in the air. Now they all have a place under the Open Frame Media umbrella.

So, why Open Frame Media? It’s simple: it’s a new home. It’s a home for my creative past, present, and future. And the future looks bright, my friends.

Like I always say: More to come, soon.
